    Three Essential Elements for Life Once I used to be a young adult - raising kids, going to faculty, and caring for a terminally ill partner; I do not remember anyone speaking about finding a balance in my life. There were just certain things that needed to be taken good care of and I never gave a thought to whether I was more focused on a single aspect of life or not. Scientific research has made great strides since those years, and we discover increasingly more about the significance of attaining a balance among all of the areas of life. Thoughtful experts have formulated ways to look at life by dividing 'it' or 'us' into segments or categories that could be utilized to find, rank and appraise whether we are or are not living a 'balanced' life! Those places are: *Societal/Leisure- are we involved with others or do we tend to be a 'lone ranger', do we take time for ourselves and those people who are significant to us, do we have a hobby or avocations by which we consistently engage, *Career - our work life, our profession or business, *Family - our partner, children, grandchildren and extended family, *Monetary - how we manage the monetary resources we've, *Mental-Emotional - our 'thought' and 'feeling' life, our inner life, our view from in/out, *Religious - our perspective of that which is larger than we are, that which 'raps in the door' of our internal being. Are these areas of life meaningful for merely those of ourselves who've entered the 2nd half of the journey? As which move through the 2nd half of our life journey, I consider it becomes even more important to take a focused look at just how life is going for us. If ourselves want to live a very long, full, rich life - we need to concentrate to who we are and where we're in every one of the different, but associated regions of life. No matter where we locate ourselves TODAY, we could make changes that can ultimately change us over the years. We could reverse the things that we find are 'out of whack'.
